The Pressure Washer
You need a pressure washer to create thick foam, and the thickness of the foam depends on the type of pressure washer you use. Have a look at a pressure washer lineup: Pressure Washing – Obsessed Garage.
The Sprayer
Most pressure washer sprayers are bulky and lack a swivel. When using a foam cannon, upgrade to a shorter sprayer. We recommend the OG Spec Mosmatic Swiveling Sprayer.

The Foam Cannon
You need a foam cannon to make the foam. If you are using a mid-tier or high-end pressure washer, like the Active 2.0, AR Blue Clean AR630-TSS, or a Kranzle, you will need to use the 1.25 mm orifice. If you have an entry-level pressure washer, like the Karcher Machines we sell, you will want to switch to the 1.1mm orifice.
The Soap
Soap is also a determining factor in how thick the foam is. We like to use Koch Chemie GSF (Gentle Snow Foam) in our foam cannons. Most other soaps will work great, too, but Koch Chemie GSF is our favorite.
Once you have set up your pressure washer, it's time to start foaming!
Here are the steps you need to follow:
Step 1:
Fill the bottle with approximately 750-800 ml of water. If possible, use warm water as it helps to produce more suds.
Step 2:
Add around 150 ml of soap; the dilutions may vary. Different car soaps have recommendations on their labels, so you should follow those. You will need to experiment with dilutions to find the right one.
Step 3:
Before attaching the foam cannon to the bottle, gently but thoroughly mix the soap in the bottle.
Step 4:
Screw the bottle into the foam cannon instead of screwing the foam cannon onto the bottle. This is important because screwing the foam cannon onto the bottle can strip the threads.
Step 5:
Attach the foam cannon to the sprayer and turn the dial on the top all the way up to +.
Step 6:
Squeeze the trigger on the sprayer and watch the foam party begin! Adjust the fan to your desired spray pattern. You may also need to adjust the dial on the top while foaming until you get the desired foam. However, higher output pressure washers like Kranzle usually don't need much adjustment, and you can leave the dial on the top at full +.
