The Performance

Both Kranzle and AR pressure washers are capable of delivering excellent performance. However, the AR pressure washer has a slight edge over the Kranzle due to its higher flow output. The AR produced 2.35 GPM at 980 PSI during testing, while the Kranzle produced 1.9 GPM at 1010 PSI. This gives the AR approximately 0.45 GPM more flow than the Kranzle. While the difference may not matter to every user, it is noticeable in rinsing speed and foam cannon performance. It's also important to note that the Kranzle can operate on a standard 15A circuit, while the AR requires a dedicated 20A circuit to function properly.

The Noise

No one wants a loud pressure washer disturbing the neighborhood. During testing, the Kranzle measured 68 dB while the AR measured 70 dB. While the difference is minor, the Kranzle has a slightly smoother and quieter sound profile overall. For users washing early in the morning or late at night, every little bit helps.

The Quality

When it comes to overall quality, both the Kranzle and AR are extremely well-built pressure washers. However, the Kranzle stands out due to its superior engineering, refinement, long-term reliability, and ease of serviceability. The Kranzle is German-built and has earned a reputation for exceptional fit and finish. Meanwhile, the AR is proudly made in Italy, where high-quality machinery manufacturing is also deeply rooted.

The AR feels incredibly solid and durable, with impressive build quality throughout. While it may not be as refined as the Kranzle, it comes remarkably close considering the price difference. If you are looking for the highest level of refinement, quiet operation, and premium ownership experience, the Kranzle takes the win here.

The Support and Maintenance

Water under pressure will never be completely maintenance-free, so parts replacement and servicing should always be expected eventually. Fortunately, both Kranzle and AR have excellent reputations for long-term support and parts availability. Unlike many consumer-grade pressure washers found at big box stores, both of these units are fully serviceable and designed to be maintained over time.

If both units are used equally and maintained properly, their maintenance schedules are fairly similar. However, AR replacement parts and servicing costs are generally less expensive than Kranzle components. Regardless, both brands provide strong support and long-term reliability.

The Cost

The AR and Kranzle are both positioned toward the enthusiast and prosumer end of the pressure washer market. At the time of writing, the AR is priced around $945 while the Kranzle comes in around $1178.

Although the Kranzle costs slightly more, it delivers a more refined user experience, quieter operation, premium aesthetics, and exceptional engineering. On the other hand, the AR offers stronger overall performance, rugged build quality, and lower operating and maintenance costs.

Like comparing a Porsche to a Corvette, both are extremely capable machines with different priorities. The Corvette may win the straight-line performance battle, but the Porsche delivers a more refined overall experience. Ultimately, choosing between these two units comes down to your priorities and budget.

Conclusion

The Kranzle and AR pressure washers are both excellent options, but they cater to slightly different users. If you prioritize quiet operation, premium engineering, long-term refinement, and overall ownership experience, the Kranzle is difficult to beat. However, if your primary focus is maximizing GPM, getting excellent performance per dollar, and keeping maintenance costs lower, the AR may be the better fit.

At the end of the day, either pressure washer will be an outstanding and enjoyable tool in your detailing arsenal.
