Freight Shipping
What is Freight Shipping?
Freight refers to shipments that are larger in quantity, weight, or size than the typical parcel handled by standard carriers like USPS. Any shipment larger than 30x30x30 inches or over 150 pounds is considered freight. Packages under these dimensions are generally more cost-effective to ship via parcel service. Freight shipping companies operate worldwide, using airports, seaports, and truck depots to move goods.
- **Inspect on Arrival**: Please inspect items upon delivery and refuse any damaged packages or parts of the shipment. Take photos of any issues and contact us right away so we can assist with a resolution. Freight companies only provide a window of about 3-5 days from delivery to report damage!
- For any items not shipped from our facility, let us know the delivery timing that works best for you so we can coordinate with our suppliers. For items shipping from our facility (like pressure washer parts and detailing products), we will ship them as soon as theyβre ready.
- Freight Delivery Scheduling: The freight company will call ahead to schedule residential deliveries. For commercial locations, they are not required to call ahead, so please let us know if you need a call-ahead.
- Large Item Delivery: Some larger items (e.g., Sonic cabinets or Nussbaum Lifts) arrive on a closed semi-trailer. Please inform us if there are any access issues for semi-trailers at your location. We can look into other delivery methods or locations, but those may come at an additional cost.
- Moving Heavy Items: Due to the size and weight of these items, having a pallet jack or forklift on hand can be useful. Drivers are typically only responsible for offloading items from the truck. You can usually rent a pallet jack for pretty cheap. If you have a forklift on site, that's even better.
- Delivery location: Standard freight delivery is set for curbside or street. In some cases, drivers will be willing to bring items into your garage, although this is not guaranteed. For more peace of mind, we can arrange for "inside delivery" at an additional cost. Matt's advice is to "palm a hundo" (tip generously) for extra service.
- Delivery Changes: Once the shipment is en route, changing the delivery location or holding the shipment incurs additional costs. Please inform us of any necessary changes as early as possible to avoid these fees.
- Freight Returns: Please note that if you refuse a delivery for reasons other than damage or incorrect items, additional fees for the return and re-delivery will apply.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
