How-To: Using the Swisstrax Designer

A simple step-by-step process for using the Swisstrax Designer

  1. Click on the appropriate floor plan for your space:
  2. You can use the L Shape and T Shape for more complex designs and plans with alcoves and such:
  3. Next, select your overall width and height. Depending on the shape of your garage, these can be flipped in order to accommodate your design and make using the L Shape or T Shape work properly.
  4. Drag the sliders on the screen to align the walls to match your space:
  5. If you have angled walls, use that next step to adjust that.
  6. Now, choose your tile:
  7. This next part is where you get into the finer parts of your design. You can use your mouse cursor to "paint" your tile selection into the design. Just choose the tile you want, and click and drag the tiles you want to change.

Pro Tip: Don't be a typical garage-bro and choose checkerboard or have a boring color as the main color for your entire floor. BUT, don't be scared to do something unique.

  8. Your last tile choice will be your edges (corners are just for standalone parking pads, not for a garage):
  9. Non-tile areas are largely unused, but if you have something in your garage, like a closet bumpout or similar, you can use this tool to define that area.
  10. The last step finalizes the design and gives you a view of how many tiles and edges you need. For this design, you would add about 5 extra Slate Grey Tiles and 4 extra Edge Pieces (2 for each door). Remember: always get looped edges if possible.

Now that you have your design, go to the flooring section in our store and add what you need to your cart. Don't worry about the quantities until you actually click on your cart.

Once in your cart, you can adjust to larger quantities much more easily. These are sold in packs of 6 for the tiles and packs of 10 for the edge pieces.

The nice thing about Swisstrax is that you're not beholden to the design you choose from the designer. Once you have the tiles delivered to your garage and you start installing, you can easily adjust and modify your design slightly to better fit your space.

Don't overthink it!
